Veteran Evaluation Clinic Medical Assistant – Anchorage, Alaska

Overview

This role is well suited for an experienced medical assistant who prefers a structured clinical environment and wants their work to support U.S. Veterans. The clinic focuses exclusively on Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability evaluations that help Veterans move forward in the benefits process.

The position does not involve treatment, prescribing, or long-term patient management. Instead, the day centers around preparing Veterans for scheduled exams, assisting providers during evaluations, and ensuring the clinic operates smoothly.

As a Veteran Evaluation Clinic Medical Assistant – Anchorage, Alaska, you will work closely with providers conducting disability assessments while maintaining an organized and efficient clinical workflow. The schedule is consistent, the patient flow is predictable, and the focus remains on respectful, Veteran-centered service.

Position Details

• Location: Anchorage, Alaska

• Facility Type: Veteran disability examination clinic

• Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

• Patient Population: U.S. Veterans undergoing disability evaluations

• Clinical Areas Supported:

• Compensation: $27.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Welcome Veterans and prepare them for scheduled disability evaluations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional exam environment

• Perform phlebotomy and prepare laboratory specimens

• Conduct EKGs, Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), and ABI testing

• Assist providers during structured evaluation appointments

• Prepare documentation and materials for provider review

• Track appointment flow and help maintain on-time scheduling

• Report no-shows and scheduling updates to clinic leadership

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Certified Medical Assistant certification (CCMA, NRCMA, AAMA, or RMA accepted)

• BLS certification required

• Minimum 4 years of Medical Assistant clinical experience

• At least 2 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience

• Ability to independently perform laboratory procedures

• Alaska state license required
